Today, we held our very own 'Delta's Got Talent', which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and teachers. Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy practising and carried out an audition in their classrooms, who then voted for two acts to be in the final! We had our very own Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, who were the judges.

We had a range of talented acts from singing, to dancing and even speed doodles to the theme of mission impossible! Everyone, showed kindness and respect towards each other's acts and gave many cheers. It really shows that Delta really does have a lot of talent!

Year 3 have been learning about the Egyptians and re-created some beautifully, detailed Egyptian scrolls, which are usually made from papyrus to retell Egyptian stories. They have also been practising their sewing skills to make cushions.

Year 4 have been studying the book Mama Miti by Jo Napoli. The children analysed, explored and created sculptures of objects from the story but also created detailed pictures of different settings from using oil pastels.

  • Windrush 75th Anniversary Assembly

    Published 22/06/23

On the Thursday 22nd June 2023 is the 75th anniversary of the Empire Windrush arriving in Britain. Its arrival marks one of the most significant changes to diversity in British society.

The children had an assembly, and were informed about how that after World War II,
Britain was badly damaged. It had also lost many people who haddied at war.Britain needed to be rebuilt. It also needed workers.

Britain had an Empire - a group of countries that it controlled. People in the Empire were considered British. Many islands in the Caribbean were a part of the British Empire.

Britain invited people from the Caribbean to help rebuild the country. In 1948, 492 Caribbean migrants travelled to Britain on the Empire Windrush.

Some of the passengers were excited and some were nervous. They said Britain was the ‘mother country’ that would welcome and look after them. Many passengers were
soldiers who had fought for Britain in World War II.
