  • Science - Centre of Cell Trip

    Published 10/06/24

A few of our Year 5 children travelled by train to The Centre of the Cell Experience at Queen Mary University London. They looked at different types of laboratories and the types of protective equipment they may need to wear to keep them safe. One of the children even got to dress up in full PPE equipment.

The children were then given a scenario and they had to be scientific detectives to work out what illness their patient had using the symptoms to help them. They had to test a sample to identify whether their patient had a viral or bacterial infection.

After lunch, the children were taken into a huge cell-shaped building. Inside, they had the opportunity to look at different parts of the human body, play scientific games and even find out exactly how many cells were inside of their bodies.
