  • NSPCC - Speak out Stay safe

    Year 5/6 Jemison and Year 2 Mandela took part in the NSPCC - Speak out Stay Safe workshop today. The workshop helped children understand:

    • abuse in all its forms and how to recognise the signs of abuse
    • that abuse is never a child’s fault and they have the right to be safe
    • where to get help and the sources of help available to them, including the Childline service.

    The NSPCC workshop leaders commented that it was clear to see how the school have embedded and worked on ensuring that all the children know who are their trusted adults are and who the children should go to for help.

  • Digital Photography

    During Art, Year 5/6 Jemison have been learning about digital photography and used their chromebooks to create an image inspired by the Ghanian artist, Derrick O. Boateng. The children used bold colours for the background and ukuleles and books that are written by diverse authors to create their image.

  • Class Worry Box

    Our classes know that they all have a worry box in their classroom, where they can write down anything that is on their mind - no matter how big or small. We also have calm corners where our children may need a quiet space to reflect or even focus during part of the day.

  • Reading Fiesta

    Our Delta children celebrated the love of reading, as part of our Reading Fiesta! Our Key Stage 2 children became Reading Buddies with our Key Stage 1 and Reception children. Each class took part in a Reading Book Hunt. We also had our families come into school to listen and read with their children and also see how we teach reading at school.

  • Goodbye Year 6

    Today, the rest of the school had the opportunity to say a final and fond farewell to our Year 6 children. Our Year 6 children walked with pride and released their Delta green balloons before leaving the school gates for the final time. We wish all our Year 6 all the best and hope they have a smooth transition to secondary school.

  • Delta's Got Talent

    Today we had our very own Delta's Got Talent where children from the final acts got to perform and show their talent to the whole school. We had a range of acts such as singing, gymnastics, speed drawing and dancing. We even had our very own teachers as the judges! Well done to all our children who took part - they really did show some remarkable talent.

  • KS1 and KS2 Sports Day

    We had wonderful weather for our children and families to enjoy Sports Day this year. The children were remarkable and worked together in their sporting teams, communication and turn taking and celebrating the competitive races too! We even had our parents who showed grit and determination to win the parent race too!
